Alessandro Savelli

Alessandro Savelli was born in Milan in 1955 and lives and works in Desio. Graduated from the Liceo Artistico di Brera in 1973, he made his debut the following year with a solo exhibition at the San Rocco Gallery in Seregno and since then he has set up over fifty solo exhibitions in Italy, Switzerland, Japan, Germany, the United States, Mexico.
Graduated in Architecture at the Politecnico di Milano in 1979, he has dedicated himself to teaching art since 1983, first as a teacher, then, from 1990 as dean of the Papa Ratti Art School in Desio and from 1992 to 2001 he held the chair of Painting at the Aldo Galli Academy in Como. He is currently Director of the Vittorio Viviani Free Academy of Painting in Nova Milanese.
During his forty-year career Savelli has professionally dedicated himself to theatrical scenography, to the conservative restoration of cultural heritage, to museum set-up, to the realization of paintings, engravings and ceramics preserved in public and private collections in Italy, Spain, France, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Japan, Argentina, Bolivia, South Korea, Mexico, USA, Quatar, obtaining prizes and acknowledgments.
He has participated in numerous national awards and competitions, obtaining awards starting from 1990, when he won the first prize at the Alessandro Durini International Review in Nova Milanese, which was followed in 1991 by the Bice Bugatti Prize, in 1994 Arte Oggi in Europa MIART, in 1995 again the Bice Bugatti Prize for painting and Durini for watercolor, in 1996 the Prize for engraving in Nova Milanese, in 1998 the II Prize at the X National Painting Competition Palazzo Terragni in Lissone.
